Crisis and Emergency Procedures

HEAL Center for Counseling and Complementary Health, LLC (HEAL CCC) is an outpatient mental health practice and does not provide 24-hour crisis services, emergency psychiatric care, or emergency medical services.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, psychiatric emergency, medical emergency, or are unable to maintain your safety, do not wait for a response from your therapist. Please seek immediate assistance using one of the resources below.

If You Are Experiencing an Emergency

If you believe you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency:

  • Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
  • Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available
    24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Use your local mobile crisis response services if available in your community.

If you are unsure which local crisis services are available, calling or texting 988 will connect you with trained crisis counselors who can help identify appropriate resources and coordinate support in your area.

Contacting HEAL CCC During a Crisis

Because HEAL CCC is an outpatient practice, messages left by phone, email, text, or through the client portal are not continuously monitored and should never be used to obtain emergency assistance.

If you are experiencing an emergency, do not wait for your therapist to respond. Instead, call 911, contact 988, or proceed to the nearest emergency department.

Emergency Procedures During Telehealth Sessions

Because HEAL CCC provides telehealth services, clients are required to maintain a current emergency contact and provide their physical location at the beginning of each telehealth session.

If your provider believes that you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency or are at imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or others, HEAL CCC may take reasonable steps to help protect your safety or the safety of others.

These actions may include:

  • Contacting your emergency contact.
  • Contacting 911 or other local emergency services.
  • Contacting local mobile crisis or crisis stabilization services.
  • Dispatching emergency responders to the physical location you provided at the beginning of the session.
