“Only one day at a time—think of this. One day is mine. I will in this one day do my best.” ~ E.G. White

Clinical Support Groups

COMING SOON! Group therapy is different from individual psychotherapy because it offers support and feedback from peers, which helps you grow relationships skills that transfer outside of therapy. When you commit to working on yourself in a support group, you are committing to yourself to live life with less stress and more at ease with others.

Exposure Response Prevention

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) is an important type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that targets symptomatology and recovery of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). ERP has two components. The first component is exposure, which refers to you practicing allowing yourself to make contact with distressing thoughts, images, objects, and situations that make you anxious and/or provoke your obsessions. The second component is response prevention, and this refers to making a choice not to do a compulsive behavior once the stress responses associated with obsessions have been “triggered.” All of this is done under the guidance of a therapist at the beginning, and you will eventually learn to do your own ERP exercises to help manage your symptoms over the long-term. Over time, ERP helps you to “retrain your brain” and teach it that is no longer has to respond with fear or anxiety when “triggered” by obsessions.

Trauma-Focused Psychotherapy

Some individuals come to counseling because they feel stuck or are having trouble getting back to normal after a traumatic experience. Trauma-focused counseling recognizes how past traumatic experiences and memories result in symptoms that can make you feel out of control or negatively affect your function. We support you to take charge of your recovery by working towards increasing your sense of internal and external safety, learning emotion regulation skills, effectively processing trauma memories, building adaptive responses, and reconnecting with your ordinary life. In addition to trauma-focused counseling, we offer focused focused, evidence-based psychotherapy interventions including: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).
